Plastic Free Sunday Fellowship

The Plastic-Free Sunday Fellowship is a 4-month impact-driven program under UnBubble's Plastic-Free Sunday Initiative, designed to activate local youth leaders in promoting plastic-free habits with a monthly stipend of ₹5,000 and a completion grant of ₹5,000. Fellows will design and implement weekly campaigns such as plastic-free challenges, awareness drives, workshops, and social media challenges, contributing towards a larger movement for a sustainable future.

Objectives

Promote plastic-free habits and sustainable living through community engagement.
Empower youth to design and lead impactful campaigns every Sunday.

Eligibility Criteria

Age group: 16 - 25 Years
Passionate about sustainability, community engagement, and climate action
Prior experience in awareness activities, cleanups, or sustainability projects is appreciated (but not mandatory)
Must be available to attend all programs and complete weekly activities.

Fellowship Duration

Total Duration: 4 months

Includes:
- 1-Day Opening Training Program (Mandatory)
- 16 Plastic Free Sunday activities (1 per week)
- Final Closing & Recognition Program (Mandatory)

Stipend and Support

Monthly Stipend: ₹5,000
Completion Reward: ₹5,000

Roles & Responsibilities

Organize one Plastic Free Sunday activity every week (total 12)
Activities can include:
- Plastic Free Challenges
- Plastic Free Campaigns Online/Offline
- Awareness Drives
- Increasing Outreach for Plastic Free Sunday (Community Building)
Engage with local schools, colleges, market vendors, housing societies, and communities

(Fellows can plan various or different activities based on their creativity, but need to be discussed with the PFS team before execution.)

Who can apply for the fellowship?

Anyone aged between 16 and 25 years who is passionate about sustainability and wants to create change in their community can apply. Students, professionals, and social activists – all are welcome!

How long is the fellowship program?

The fellowship lasts for 4 months, with flexible weekly engagements and one campaign activity every week

Is this a paid fellowship, and what are the other benefits?

Yes, this is a paid and impact-driven fellowship, and fellows will receive Rs 5000 every month and a Rs 5000 bonus after successful completion of the fellowship, certificates, mentorship, recognition, and opportunities to feature on our platform and social media.

What are the responsibilities of a fellow?

Fellows are expected to:

Organize a plastic-free activity every Sunday or any other day, but at Least one activity per week is necessary.
Document their actions and impact
Raise awareness on social media and within their community
Engage with local businesses, schools, or groups to reduce plastic use

How can we measure our impact during the fellowship?

We evaluate your impact based on:

Number of people reached or engaged
Reduction of plastic in your activities or community
Creativity and consistency in your weekly campaigns
Documentation through photos/videos/posts

What kind of activities can I organize on Plastic-Free Sundays?

You are free to innovate and experiment!

Can I participate if I live in a rural or remote area?

Yes! We encourage participation from all regions — rural, urban, or semi-urban. Local action can create unique impact stories and inspire others in similar areas.

What if I miss a Sunday or can’t organize an activity one week?

We understand life can get busy. If you communicate with your mentor in advance, we’re flexible. We can adjust it next week. The key is consistency and creating impact over time.
